National Enquirer being Offered to former newsstand mogul
The National Enquirer has been marketed to the former head of the airport newsstand firm Hudson News.
Tabloid proprietor American Media says it is selling the supermarket weekly to James Cohen. The deal comes after a year for the tabloid in which it had been caught up in a federal probe of illegal campaign donations to Donald Trump’s presidential effort in 2016.
The tabloid has been enticed of trying to blackmail him by threatening to release explicit photographs of him by Amazon leader Jeff Bezos. The charges are denied by the tabloid.
Financial terms were not immediately disclosed for the deal, which also includes the National Examiner, both the Globe and two American Media tabloids.
