What happened
DeFi Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: DEFT) said Valour's assets under management reached $640.2 million on Sept. 25, 2026. That was up 61.2% from $397.2 million on June 30, 2026, and about 64% above a cycle low of around $390 million. The company said Valour continues to see month-over-month net inflows.
DeFi Technologies said Valour launched Valour Funds SPC and Smart Crypto Fund SP on Sept. 21, 2026. It called Smart Crypto Fund SP its first hedge fund for professional and qualified investors. The filing also said the company held approximately $135 million across cash, stablecoins, STRC/RWUSD, treasury investments and its venture portfolio, with no debt, as of June 30, 2026. Valour's ten largest digital assets accounted for approximately 89.8% of reported AUM.

Why it matters
OptimistFi's case is that DEFT needs proof that Valour can scale into durable fees and cash, not just ride token prices. The AUM jump expands the base available to generate management fees, staking and lending income, and trading revenue, according to the release. By OptimistFi's calculation, AUM rose by $243 million from June 30, 2026.
The new fund and planned fund structures also broaden the platform beyond Valour's exchange-listed products. The caveat is in the filing itself: the revenue outcome depends on product mix, fee levels, staking yields, trading conditions and operating costs. Higher AUM helps the setup, but it does not by itself show that growth is turning into lasting cash generation.

What's next
The company said inflow figures will be provided with its quarterly financial results. That report will show whether the larger asset base is turning into clearer revenue and cash generation.
Nasdaq's extension runs through March 1, 2027. Regaining compliance requires a closing bid price of at least US$1.00 per share for ten consecutive business days, followed by written confirmation from Nasdaq. If the bid price stays below US$1.00, the listing deficiency remains open.
