Why it matters
OptimistFi's case is that Wise works if its low-cost, transparent cross-border money network keeps taking share while revenue turns back into durable per-share earnings after the FY2026 margin reset. The filing adds a capital-return update to that story, because repurchases are already under way and the company has a stated ceiling. At about 2.46 times the Nasdaq and other US total, the London Stock Exchange and other venues carried more of the repurchased shares.
That matters because the program can still absorb capital while Wise reports scale metrics that keep the network narrative in view. Wise's FY2026 figures are large enough to matter to the case, but the release does not connect them to an earnings conversion step. The filing still shows only a cap and a dated buyback notice, not proof that the margin reset has passed through to per-share earnings.

What's next
The buyback can still run up to £405 million, and later repurchase notices will show how much of that cap Wise uses. If the company keeps buying shares while FY2026-type scale remains intact, the capital-return side of the case strengthens. If repurchases slow before the cap is used, the filing gives less support for the per-share earnings story. A later update would matter most if it shows both continued repurchases and the same scale backdrop.
