Why it matters
By OptimistFi's calculation, the sale was 1.8% of the 541,270 shares the spouse held before the trades. That is a small slice of one account within Altschuler's wider family holdings. The Form 4 reports the spouse-held shares as indirect ownership.
The plan is the main caveat for anyone reading the sale as a signal. The Form 4 checks the box showing the trades were meant to satisfy the Rule 10b5-1(c) affirmative defense. It says the shares were sold automatically under a plan adopted in advance, so the sale may reflect a schedule rather than a fresh view of Xometry.
OptimistFi has argued that Xometry's marketplace, supplier network and embedded services can build a higher-margin platform with improving cash generation. A small plan-based sale by a director's spouse does not test that view, so the case is unchanged.

What's next
The next test is Xometry's next quarterly report, which will update the cash generation and profitability that OptimistFi's case rests on.
Another Form 4 would be the next read on insider activity. Sales from the direct or trust holdings, or trades made outside a plan, would carry more weight than this one.
